Regional Dance Center in Northern Finland consists of four professional northern members: JoJo - Oulu Dance Centre (Oulu), Folk Ensemble Rimpparemmi (Rovaniemi), Routa Company (Kajaani) and Pyhäsalmen Tanssi ry (Pyhäjärvi). Funding for regional centers gives each member a chance to increase art and cultural services irrespective of location and wealth. Availability of dance art outside cities, in parishes and villages, is developed and increased with the regional center's activities. Thus improving the opportunities for employment for dance artists as well as increasing the co-operation in the area of dance. The members' artistic directors choose together and work on joint ventures, tour and visiting programs, as well as plan compact courses for professionals.
Regional Dance Center in Northern Finland is part of national network of five
Regional Dance Centers.
In the north, Regional Dance Center activities aim to strengthen the structures of dance, increase the job opportunities for professionals and deepen and develop the dance art and culture in Oulu and Lappi Provinces. Primary goals are to develop co-operation between the regional center members, increase the number and have versatile interaction with the audience. |
